The SET has recently set up a Research Network. The aim of this group is to keep up to date with ongoing research, trial new strategies within the classroom and set up research studies within the school to continually ensure we are offering an innovative education for our children. The group met for the first time on Tuesday 28th September and focussed on the new guidelines recently published by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) into effective feedback and marking. Over the next few weeks, teachers will be trialling a whole class feedback approach to the marking of writing, with a focus on dedicated time and teaching being provided to the children to allow them to apply the feedback. We are looking forward to getting back together in October to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this approach before updating our feedback and marking policy.
