Welcome to Selby Community Primary School 

At Selby Community Primary, our curriculum begins with our 2-year-olds and continues right through to Year 6, preparing pupils with the knowledge, confidence, and independence they need for secondary school and beyond.

Our children are honest, hardworking, and full of enthusiasm. In our most recent Ofsted inspection (April 2022), we were judged Good with Outstanding features. Our pupils show resilience and proudly follow our three simple rules: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Ready.

We aim to provide an engaging curriculum that inspires curious, motivated learners and equips them with essential life skills. Creativity, the arts, and sport all play an important part in enriching our broad and stimulating curriculum.  We also enjoy strong links with the local community and actively participate in events and projects across the Selby area.

Our school benefits from extensive grounds — including our own forest — where children can explore, take considered risks, and learn through play. We are fortunate to have dedicated pastoral and inclusion teams who work closely with families to ensure every child feels supported, valued, and ready to thrive. We see every child as an individual and celebrate what makes them unique.

Together, we share a commitment to excellence, innovation, and providing the highest quality education for all our children.
