Ian Clennan
I started my teaching career back in 2000 and have taken on many different challenges over the years. I am a National Leader for Education. I enjoy helping others to become better in education and feel this is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job. I have been Headteacher at Selby CP since 2008 and am proud of everything we have achieved in this time. What a transformation we have had! We are now recognised for so many of our talents. In 2019 I became the Chief Executive for Selby Educational Trust.
Outside school I am a radio presenter on many different radio stations, as well as being the Chair of Trustees at York Hospital Radio. Music is very much part of my day to day life. I am married with two children. Family is very important to me.

I have been the clerk for Selby Community Primary School since 2015 and supported governors through the move to academy status in 2017. I have also clerked for Selby Educational Trust since 2016 and I am a member of the North Yorkshire County Council clerking team, clerking for a range of schools including maintained, academies and faith schools. I have completed the Clerk’s Development Programme with the National College for Teaching and Leadership and I am CIPD qualified. My earlier career was spent in HR and Executive Recruitment.
Outside of work I am a keen gardener and cook and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
Angela O’Mahoney
I’m a Selby resident and grew up near the school – in a sweet shop!
I’m active in my community and I am chair of Selby Hockey Club’s youth section, coaching children from 8 years old into adults. I also play at a good level and love the health and social side of hockey.
I work for Selby District Council as Head of Community and Partnerships. My team do a range of things including community engagement, community safety, work on improving health and creating a heritage and culture offer for everyone.
I have worked with young people since being a youth leader, working in a special school as a teaching assistant and as a Probation Officer, right through to being the Head of Youth Justice And Targeted Youth Services at York before my current role. I hope I can put my previous experience and current community experience to use for the school over the next few years.

I am a staff Governor for Selby CP, having worked here for just over 10 years. I began my teaching career as a secondary maths teacher and became involved in primary education as a maths booster teacher. This lead to me taking on a class full time at Selby and never looking back. I currently teach in Year 5 and lead maths across the school. I am currently training to be a mastery maths specialist with NCETM, which will bring greater experience to my role. I really enjoy working in our school.
Outside of school, I am a runner, cyclist and keen amateur dramatics participant. I am married and have three grown up children. My greatest joy is spending time with them, family is everything to me.
Dian Craven
I worked at Selby CP for 30 years and retired July 2023. I’m married to Steve Craven who also worked at this school so in fairness my bio is much the same as his apart from I enjoy reading and doing jigsaws. You might know me more as the raffle ticket lady!

Many of you will know me as I retired in 2022 from Selby CP after working as the school caretaker for 15 years. I am married to Dian who retired this year after working as a TA for over 30 years and we have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. I enjoy gardening and doing activities/holidays with my family. I am looking forward to joining the school governing team.
Fiona Peill
I have been a governor at Selby CP School since November 2021.
I am now a retired Headteacher, having worked in a number of schools within North Yorkshire. I am still passionate about primary education; giving children the best possible opportunity to succeed, while supporting school staff to achieve this goal.
In addition to my role as a school governor, I have a number of other voluntary roles within the local community.
Jack Proud
Some of you may know me as Toby, Josh or Harry’s dad who all attend the school as I did nearly 30 years ago. To represent parents at my former school and now where my children will learn and grow is not something I take lightly and I will do my best to add to the brilliant work that is already being done.
Alongside my position as a parent governor I represent Selby East on the unitary authority and Selby South as a Town Councillor which I am privileged to do so. Serving my community and supporting projects as part of that work is important to me particularly pushing for better services for young people.
